Abdominal bloating ? Has #guttok got the answer……

In March Tik Tok exploded with recommendations to improve abdominal bloating….remedies such as aloe vera drinks, bone broths and sweet potato smoothies promising the illusive toned abdomen. It is fantastic to see gut health feature so prominently particularly in the younger generation where lifestyle factors play such a large part in life. Rather than spending lots of time and money on exquisite lotions and potions, we would recommend sticking to some basics;

  1. Increase your fibre intake. Nothing more simple than an apple day…perhaps grate an apple over a bowl of porridge for an extra fibre boost.
  2. Consider at least 1 day per week without processed food. Try and make it a rare treat.
  3. Fermented food. Consider kefir yoghurts 2-3 times per week or try sauerkraut with your salad.
  4. Stress relieving activities. A simple walk after meals will reduce abdominal bloating. Consider deep breathing exercises before you go to bed to improve your night’s sleep.

And as for those ripped abs…..they will need fitness and exercise to be added into your simple steps above. Good luck!
