It has been a fantastic year for us @ The McCarthy Clinic. The second year of our clinic and during that time we have found our groove. We have fine tuned our local anaesthetic office based surgery with a rapid turnover and a quick, no fuss, alternative to operations that are usually offered under general anaesthesia.

We have learnt that the vast majority of proctology conditions we see can be treated in the office without the need for resorting to traditional surgery. The procedures we undertake are quick and well tolerated. Most patients report that the experience was better than they expected.

We have learnt that removal of bothersome anal skin tags can be life changing for patients. They are generally not talked about in public as they are considered embarrassing, no matter what your age. Similarly haemorrhoids and acute anal fissures can be so painful they interfere with your ability to work and sleep.

This year we were delighted to be inspected by the CQC and we are over the moon at our good rating. A fantastic start for us and we aim to maintain our high standards.

Anal and rectal examination? Don’t fear. This is what we do for all patients. It will be quick, straightforward with minimal fuss. A good chance to get to the bottom(!) of your bothersome and embarrassing symptoms. Currently an all-lady team but we welcome all patients, regardless of gender.
